Nika is a photographer based in Munich.
For eleven years, Nika worked as an industrial and UX/UI designer, designing the frameworks that define people’s space and behavior within organizational and technical systems. In that process, Nika saw firsthand that systems operate not on a logic that places the human at the center, but on a logic of alignment and management. The photographic work carries that perspective into the contemporary urban environment, observing the mechanisms through which the city, as a system, organizes behavior, space, and visibility, and recording how human presence recedes within that system.
Indigo Static is the first extended work of this practice. Walking New York, London, and Tokyo, Nika observed, read patterns, and discovered each city’s mechanism on site. Nika is currently designing the work as a photobook.
